Safety-II at the operational level describes the changes to the understanding of safety. Traditional safety (Safety-I) is basically reactive. The focus of Safety-II is on work that goes well and on how this can be supported and augmented. Safety-II and learning: In addition to looking for and eliminating accident causes in order to prevent their recurrence, Safety-II proposes that learning should look to everyday operations and serve to ensure that work goes well. Safety-II as a management principle is about knowing the current position, the target or goal, and especially how to change the organisation so that it develops in the right direction and with the right “speed”.
